Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I grew up on the north coast of Northern Ireland and for my first blog post at "The Heritage Genealogist" I would like to introduce you to one of my favorite scenes from home... This photograph is of Whiterocks Bay in County Antrim, Northern Ireland, looking west toward the town of Portrush, with Donegal in the distance. On a clear day, it looks like you can see forever. If you're a golf fan, you'll probably have the chance to see a lot more of this coastline on television during July because... Royal Portrush Golf Club is hosting the 153rd Open Championship this summer at the famous Dunluce Links course that sits just behind the sand dunes in this photograph! The Open is the prestigious golf tournament that's held at a different championship golf course in the United Kingdom each year. Royal Portrush last played host in 2019 for the first time in 68 years and the event was so successful that it is retuning to the north coast again this year. Check back weekly for more images of Northern Ireland and for additional information about the "Emerald Isle"! Contact me here to find out more today!
